Ulmus pumila

Large tree native to China and Siberia, with a smooth trunk and ascending crown. Bright green leaves in spring and yellow in autumn, toothed and pointed with serrated edges. Red-violet flowers before leafing, followed by samaras that remain on the tree until late summer. Requires moist and light soils.
