Syagrus romanzoffianum Palm

Origin: Brazil. Semi-hardy Palm tree with a trunk that is initially rather thin, and then after a few years it gets thicker at the base. At the end of the trunk there is a tuft of pinnate, arching leaves (up to 4m long), the dark green segments of which droop down from the central axis creating an effect of lightness. Requires soil rich in humus, well drained.
