Sparmannia

A shrub native to South Africa with numerous, pubescent branches. The evergreen leaves are heart-shaped, pointed, dark green, and can grow up to 15 cm. It blooms in April-May with fragrant flowers made up of white petals and yellow stamens with dark red tips. Hardy, it grows well in pots and can also be used as a houseplant.
