Sophora japonica
Tree native to China and Korea with a rounded crown, dark green bark with white spots in young specimens, becoming dark gray when mature. Deciduous leaves 20-25 cm long made up of 7-17 bright green, oval leaflets. Blooms profusely in July-August with cream-colored flowers gathered in terminal clusters. The fruits are pendulous green pods. Grows in all non-waterlogged soils, tolerates heat, drought, and pollution. Used in parks, avenues, and industrial areas.
