Sequoia

Conifer native to California with a narrow, conical crown, soft bark resistant to fire, orange or dark red in color. Evergreen, sharp needles, bright green with a lighter underside. Small, rounded, brown cones. Requires moist, well-drained, and deep soil, and a location sheltered from frost. Needs special care during transplanting due to its root system.
