Sarcococca
Shrub native to China with a dense crown and arching branches. The evergreen leaves are bright green and oval, 4–6 cm long. It blooms from January to March with cream-colored flowers clustered in bunches, later producing round blackish-red berries. It requires non-calcareous, moist but well-drained and fertile soil. It is used as ground cover or to form low hedges.
