Salvia

Aromatic plant native to Southern Europe, widely used in cooking. It has oval, gray-silver, and fragrant leaves. It blooms in summer with upright racemes of tubular flowers about 2.5 cm long, violet-red in color. Hardy but prefers dry soils; in cold climates, it needs winter protection. The variety S. x jamensis is used as a shrub for borders and thickets and is available in several varieties with colorful flowers. For more information, download the PDF sheet.
