Robinia x margaretta 'Casque Rouge' Bush
Origin: United States. Deciduous tree with smooth, straight trunk and round crown. Yearold branches are brown and covered in thousands of small thorns which later almost all disappear. Leaves: the colour changes from bronze to green. Flowers: in May-June, very numerous, pinkish-purple, 2-3cm, very fragrant, grouped in clusters 15cm long. Fruit: flat pods, not very numerous. Requires a position sheltered from the wind as the young branches are fragile. Soil: the same as Robinia pseudoacacia.
