Quercus robur Standard

Origin: Europe, the Middle East. Majestic deciduous tree with globose crown, very spreading, formed by very strong branches. Leaves 10-15 cm long with 4-5 lobes, sessile, dark green then yellowish-brown in autumn. They remain on branches for long time. Male flowers are noticeable as they droop in long greenish-yellow catkins. Fruits: acorns on long stalks. Prefers deep, fertile soils, can be damp but must be permeable.
