Pyrus

Tree native to the USA with an upright and oval crown. Deciduous leaves bright green, turning yellow to red in autumn, early to bud and late to fall, oval-shaped about 10 cm long and rather tough. It blooms in April with simple white flowers. Fruits are pear-like, not very abundant. Prefers neutral to calcareous and fresh soils, but also grows in poor soils. Resistant to diseases and pollution, widely used in street plantings.
