Pyracantha
Shrub with an ascending crown, thorny branches, climbing if they find support. Small, bright green evergreen leaves. Blooms abundantly in spring with small white flowers. Later produces numerous colorful fruits. Prefers loose soils and adapts well to chalky subsoils, resists pollution well, and is used for both free-growing and pruned hedges.
