Prunus lusticanica

Shrub native to Spain and Portugal with a rounded and spreading crown, which can be trained into a majestic tree or a half-stem. Evergreen dark green leaves, oval, pointed with serrated edges, 6-15 cm long and 4-6 cm wide. Blooms on last year's wood with spikes of white fragrant flowers 15-25 cm long. Fruits later in clusters of 10 cm of dark purple fruits. Hardy regarding soil, it suffers from strong temperature fluctuations, heavy rainfall, and high altitudes. Resists non-drastic pruning, used alone or in groups, as well as for free hedges and barriers.
