Prunus avium

Tree with an oval or rounded crown, erect trunk, and reddish-brown bark. Deciduous leaves green in spring, amber yellow in autumn, oval, 6-15 cm long. Blooms profusely before the leaves with simple white flowers, 2.5 cm wide. Produces small, red, edible cherries with a sweet or sour-sweet taste. Grows in permeable and clay soils, used for grafting, and grows in forests.
