Prunus 'Accolade' (Prunus sargentii 'Accolade')

Ornamental flowering cherry tree, native to England, with a rounded crown and branches hanging at the ends. Leaves green in spring, yellow-orange in autumn, elliptical with serrated edges, 8-12 cm long. Blooms in March-April with clusters of bright pink flowers about 4 cm. Hardy, requires light pruning after flowering but also tolerates severe pruning. Used alone or in loose hedges, and can also be grown in pots.
