Populus nigra 'Italica'
Tree native to Italy with a columnar crown. Diamond-shaped leaves 8–10 cm wide and 6–7 cm long, light green in spring, sometimes yellow in autumn. Only male specimens bloom in March–April with light red corymbs. Grows best in alkaline, rich, moist, and fresh soils, and is used for planting along roads and canals.
