Populus
A genus that includes various types of poplar. The white poplar has a rounded or pyramidal crown, white bark, and white undersides of the leaves, and is used as a windbreak in coastal areas. The Italian poplar has a columnar crown and rhombus-shaped leaves, and is used to line canals and roads. The trembling poplar has a rounded crown, rough bark, green leaves with a bluish underside, and is used as a windbreak and to stabilize soil.
