Poncirus trifoliata (Citrus triptera, Citrus trifoliata)
Shrub native to Korea and China with a dense, branched crown, smooth green bark, and spiny branches. Deciduous green leaves made up of 3-5 oval segments 3-6 cm long. Blooms before the leaves with white, fragrant flowers in the axils of the spines. Persistent and highly ornamental round yellow fruits, 4-5 cm in size. Grows well in deep, rich, well-drained soils. Used for dense hedges.
