Pinus sylvestris
Conifer native to Europe and northern Asia with a trunk branched from the base and a pyramidal crown when young, later losing the lower branches and the crown widens. Green needles with blue-gray shades, gray hanging cones 6 cm long. Requires slightly acidic, permeable, and dry soil, climatically hardy, tolerates frost and drought, resistant to wind. Used for afforestation in parks and as a windbreak.
