Pinus halepensis
Conifer native to the Mediterranean basin with a dense, pyramidal crown, thin gray bark when young, which becomes rough with age as the crown spreads and the trunk leans. Soft green needles, 8-13 cm long. Hardy, prefers calcareous soils, drought-resistant, and grows well on slopes near the sea. Used as a windbreak in coastal areas and as a shade tree.
