Parthenocissus

Climbing plant native to eastern America and Mexico. In the variety P. quinquefolia, the leaves are made up of 5 oval leaflets with toothed edges, dark green in spring, bright red in autumn, 4–10 cm long; in the variety P. tricuspidata "Veitchii," the leaves are green with pinkish hues when they emerge, bright green in summer, bright red in autumn, 10–15 cm long. The flowers are inconspicuous white, followed by small bluish fruits. Hardy, it grows very quickly on supports thanks to its branched tendrils.
