Nerium
A bushy shrub native to the Mediterranean, Persia, India, and Japan. It has evergreen, elongated leaves of medium green (sometimes variegated). It fruits with long pods containing woolly seeds. In the ground, it grows well in dry soils, but when cultivated in pots, it is better to use rich, moist, and deep soil, watering it from spring to autumn. It requires light pruning after flowering. It is used in flower beds, parks, and gardens, for hedges, traffic islands, and also cultivated in pots on balconies, terraces, and patios.
