Myrtus
Shrub native to Mediterranean areas with a broad, spreading crown. The evergreen leaves are oval and elongated, bright green, very tough, and aromatic. Axillary white-yellow flowers appear from June to August. It fruits with small, fleshy, blackish berries. It requires well-drained, rich soil and full sun exposure. It is highly resistant to sea air and is used in groups in rock gardens and hedges. The Tarentine myrtle has elliptical leaves, flowers with pink shades, and white berries.
