Morus

Genus available in the varieties M. alba and M. platanifolia. The first variety has elongated green leaves, small flowers gathered in hanging clusters that appear in May-June, and edible white or pink fruits. The second variety has trilobed leaves 20-25 cm long, blooms in April-May with greenish flowers, while the fruits are initially red, then black. Both varieties prefer poor and calcareous soils, are used in large gardens and parks, with M. platanifolia also used as a shade tree.
