Loropetalum chinense 'Fede'

Shrub native to China, Myanmar, and Japan with a drooping crown formed by thin, arching branches. Evergreen leaves are dark purple all year round, 2-5 cm long and 1-3 cm wide. Terminal fuchsia flowers made of twisted, ribbon-like petals bloom from spring to mid-summer. Requires permeable, rich soil and is used in borders.
