Loropetalum chinense 'Black Pearl'

Shrub native to China, Burma, and Japan with a drooping crown made of thin, arched branches. Evergreen purple leaves all year round, 2-5 cm long and 1-3 cm wide. Terminal fuchsia flowers with twisted, ribbon-like petals bloom from spring to mid-summer. Requires permeable, rich soil; used in borders.
