Kalmia
A shrub native to North America with an upright and dense crown. The evergreen leaves are dark green, 6-10 cm long, elliptical or elongated. It blooms in May-June with terminal inflorescences on the branches of the previous year. It requires non-calcareous soil, a humid climate, and partial shade exposure. It is used in groups with other plants that require acidic soils.
