Hypericum
A shrub native to England with a rounded crown. The leaves are evergreen or semi-persistent, oval, dark green with bluish undersides, and 4–6 cm long. From mid-June to mid-September, it produces numerous flowers with five yellow petals and an orange throat. It grows well in all soils that are not too permeable or too calcareous, is resistant to urban pollution, and requires heavy pruning at the end of winter. It is used in groups for borders and flower beds.
