Fraxinus ornus

Small tree or large shrub native to Southern Europe and Western Asia with a flattened dome-shaped crown, smooth gray bark, and short trunk. The deciduous leaves are made up of light green leaflets. It blooms in May with very decorative aromatic flowers gathered in white-yellow spikes. The fruits are single-winged samaras grouped together. It grows well in calcareous and dry soils, tolerates sea exposure and pollution.
