Farfugium japonicum

Il Farfugium Japonicum is a very particular evergreen herbaceous plant that can reach 45 cm in height and 60 cm in width, with heart-shaped leaves. The flowers of Farfugium can be described as yellow flower heads very similar to daisies, arranged in clusters borne on long stems that tower well above the foliage. Native to Eastern countries, it is grown in fairly moist, fertile, and well-drained soil, preferably enriched with organic matter. The fertilizer to be applied in spring should be slow-release granules to promote the plant’s vegetative growth. Watering should be regular and consistent every 2-3 days in summer, but care must be taken to avoid waterlogging, which can cause root rot. It is resistant to aphids and scale insects, but fears snails and slugs.
