Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor' (F. sylvatica 'Roseomarginata')
Native to France with an irregular crown in youth, which later becomes broadly conical. The leaves in spring are dark red with pink edges and white spots, then become dark red on the entire upper surface. Its cultivation requirements are those of F. sylvatica, but being smaller and slower growing makes it suitable also for medium-sized gardens.
