Fagus

Tree native to the Caucasus and Central Europe with a majestic trunk and gray bark. The crown and leaves vary depending on the variety. The flowers are inconspicuous and only appear on mature plants, while the fruits resemble nuts with a woody husk. It grows best in fertile, fresh, deep, and non-compact soils, preferring a humid summer climate and cold (but not freezing) winters. Its uses depend on the varieties.
