Eriobotrya

A shrub with a rounded crown. The evergreen leaves are dark green, elongated, and 8-15 cm long. The flowers are white or yellowish, depending on the variety, while the fruits (especially in the E. japonica variety) are yellow, oval, 3-6 cm in size, and edible. It requires a warm climate, suffers from calcareous soil and stagnant moisture, and is used, depending on the variety, in gardens, along avenues, or in pots and window boxes.
