Enkianthus campanulatus

Shrub native to Japan with a dense crown and branches arranged on horizontal planes. The deciduous leaves are oval, 3-6 cm long, light green in spring and bright red in autumn. It blooms in spring with bell-shaped flowers that are pale yellow with red streaks. It requires permeable, humus-rich, acidic soil. Flowering is more abundant if wilted flowers are removed promptly.
