Enkianthus
Shrub native to Japan with a dense crown and branches arranged in horizontal layers. The deciduous leaves are oval, 3–6 cm long, light green in spring and bright red in autumn. It blooms in spring with bell-shaped flowers that are pale yellow with red streaks. It requires well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil. Flowering is more abundant if the wilted flowers are removed promptly.
