Elaeagnus angustifolia

Large shrub native to southern Europe, central Asia, and China with spiny, spreading branches covered in gray scales. The leaves are narrow and up to 8 cm long, green-gray on the upper side and silver-gray on the underside. Flowers bloom in summer and are cream-white in color; in autumn, yellow-gray olive-like fruits appear. It grows well in dry, sandy soils and is resistant to drought, wind, pollution, and sea air. It is used for seaside avenues and green screens.
