Davidia

Tree native to China with deciduous, alternate, serrated-edged, bright green leaves. It only blooms when it reaches 8-10 years of age, in May-June, with bright purple flowers surrounded by two white bracts. The fruits are edible in China, oval-shaped, up to 4 cm long, and dark red in color. It has no specific soil requirements, although it prefers fertile, fresh, and light soil. It is used both alone and alongside other trees with different foliage.
