Cycas revoluta
Dwarf palm native to Japan with an upright trunk topped by a bush of evergreen leaves. The leaves are pinnate, slightly curved, about 1.5 m long, composed of more than 100 bright green leaflets, 7-8 cm long, leathery and pointed. Male flowers resemble pine cones with a pineapple scent; female flowers are a cluster of petals arranged like a rose covered with dense fuzz. When grown in open ground, it requires fertile, moist, well-drained soil, exposed to light but protected from direct sun. When grown in a pot, it should be watered moderately from spring to autumn, reducing water during winter.
