Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest'

Conifer with a dense narrow crown when young and wider later, with a reddish-brown trunk that produces a lot of resin. The evergreen leaves are golden yellow in spring and turn orange in autumn, with a lemon scent. It is not demanding regarding soil, tolerates sea exposure and indoor environments, but requires regular watering due to its rapid growth. It withstands severe pruning and is the essential support for topiary shapes.
