Cupressocyparis
A genus that includes the Leyland cypress, often propagated by grafting onto C. sempervirens (see Cupressus), characterized by very dense evergreen scale-like leaves and an ascending, often columnar crown. Flowering and fruiting are inconspicuous. It grows in all soil types and is highly resistant to pollution, sea air, and pruning. It is also commonly used for trimmed hedges.
