Cryptometria

Conifer with an ascending, conical crown and rounded top, dark red peeling bark. The leaves are soft, blue-green in spring, dark red in winter, up to 12 cm long. Requires fresh, fertile soils and humid climates sheltered from the wind. It is used alone or in groups with other conifers.
