Crataegus 'Carriere' Standard
Origin: France. Large deciduous shrub or small tree with crown that is at first spherical and then a broad, flattened dome; thorny branches. Leaves 5-15cm, leathery, glossy green, yellow or orange in autumn. White flowers in April- May followed by large reddish-orange edible fruit which remain until late winter. Prefers clay, heavy, calcareous soil. Withstands drought.
