Crataegus
Shrub commonly called Hawthorn, with deciduous dark green, oval leaves ranging from 3 to 15 cm depending on the variety. It blooms in spring with white or red flowers, followed by numerous bright red round fruits. It has no special cultivation requirements but prefers deep and rich soils, resists pollution and drought, and is used for hedges and street tree plantings in narrow roads.
