Cotinus

This genus includes the Sumac, or Smoketree, which is a shrub with deciduous leaves that vary in color depending on the variety. The flowers range from pink to purplish-red and are grouped in panicles. It tolerates heat and drought well, has no particular cultivation requirements, and is used alone or to form mixed hedges.
