Corylus colurna

Large tree native to southeastern Europe and western Asia, with a dense, pyramidal crown and rough gray bark. The leaves are oval, up to 12 cm long, bright green in spring and bright yellow in autumn. The flowers are grouped in yellow catkins that appear in February. The edible fruits grow in clusters of 3 to 6. Hardy, it resists pollution, drought, and heat.
