Cornus florida

A large shrub or small tree native to northeastern America, with an upright and dense crown. The leaves are oval-shaped and range from 8 to 15 cm in length. It blooms in April–May with flowers enclosed in bracts, while the fruits are bright red. It is not demanding in terms of soil, as long as it is fertile and not calcareous. It is used both on its own and in combination with other Cornus florida varieties.
