Cocos

Large palm native to the coasts of tropical regions, its trunk is slanted and thicker at the base. The leaves are bright green, 2 to 6 meters long, pinnate, with segments longer than one meter. It flowers all year round with small, yellow, fragrant cup-shaped flowers. The fruits are coconuts. In areas with frost, it is grown in greenhouses; in mild climates, it can be used alone or along tree-lined avenues. It requires fertile, moist, and well-drained soil and is very sensitive to prolonged droughts.
