Citrus

The genus Citrus includes many medium-sized trees and shrubs native to Southeast Asia with slow growth. They are famous for their fragrant leaves, very decorative flowers, and their fruits, called citrus fruits. They are sold throughout Europe, although they can only be grown in the ground in zone 9 due to their low cold tolerance. In other regions, they are grown in pots and placed outdoors only during the warm season. They prefer non-calcareous, moist soils and suffer from prolonged droughts, so they require frequent watering in summer.
