Ceiba speciosa Standard

Origin: Brazil, Argentina. Evergreen tree with prickly bottle-shaped trunk, pinnate leaves made up of 5-7 lanceolate leaflets, and spectacular funnel-shaped reddish-violet or yellowish-white flowers, which are followed by fruits full , of silky fibres. Needs neutral or acid soil, well drained.
