Chaenomeles

Shrub native to China and Japan with a sparse crown and thorny branches. The deciduous leaves are oval, shiny, and dark green. On the bare branches in spring, clusters of flowers with yellow stamens appear. In autumn, golden yellow fruits emerge, sometimes accompanied by a few late flowers. It grows well in any fertile soil.
