Cercis canadensis

Large shrub native to North America with a spreading and rounded crown. The deciduous leaves are pointed, initially brown, then turn bright green in spring and yellow in autumn. The flowers are clustered, appear on bare branches in April, and are pink, turning dark red by the end of flowering. It has the uses and cultivation requirements of the variety described below.
